Can you believe Purim is right around the corner!? Of course, our fellow bloggers are busy working on creative hamentaschen varieties. It’s hard to compete with all of these delicious recipes, and we usually revert to our favorite original version, but this year we decided to go with a super simple, savory pizzataschen!
We took our favorite pizza dough (whole wheat for the kiddies), thick pizza sauce, and muenster cheese, and folded them up into the traditional triangles. Of this dinner, Richie said, “It’s my favorite!” See, kids don’t have to eat sweets to enjoy these traditional holiday treats.
Now we will have to make a bunch of these to pack up for mishloach manot, because who wouldn’t want to get some pizzataschen delivered to their door?
Hamentaschen, previously: last year’s S’mores version and our favorite classic recipe
