Raspberry Sorbet

It was Friday afternoon, we were having company for shabbat dinner, and we still had some leftover raspberries. Naturally, we broke out the ice cream maker in order to prepare a delicious pareve dessert; sorbet! We keep the bowl frozen for such emergencies.

Unfortunately, we didn’t take any pictures of this. But it was pretty.

You’ll need:

  • An ice cream maker
  • 12 ounces of raspberries
  • 1/2 lemon’s juice
  • 1 cup of cold water
  • 1/4 red wine. We used Kedem, the same wine we say kiddush with.
  • 1/4 cup corn syrup
  1. Combine the raspberries, lemon juice, and sugar. Refrigerate for at least an hour.
  2. Mix in the wine, corn syrup, and water.
  3. Freeze in the ice cream maker according to manufacturer’s instructions.

That’s it.
